The cooler temperatures of winter have held off this Christmas season. Our bay temps are still hovering in the mid 70's. We have seen our first good push of pompano move into the middle bays. This style of fishing affords lots of catching. A multitude of species can be caught while target the tasty pompano. Lady fish, trout, mackerel, and blue fish are very common to catch while deploying jigs for the pompano. Nearshore, our guides are targeting snapper and gag grouper while season remains open. Also, amberjack and cudas are inhabitants of our nearshore reefs and wrecks this warm Christmas season. As always, it's a great time to be fishing in beautiful South West Florida!!! Merry Christmas and Happy holidays, from all of us at Palm Island Outfitters!!!
